FAQ: Workers’ Compensation Claims Service Provider Transition

Q: When will the transition occur?

Starting Monday, 9/1, Comprehensive Risk Services (CRS) is officially your new workers’ compensation claims service provider.

Q: What does my district need to do for this transition?

No action required – SET SEG and CRS are working with CCMSI to transfer all processes and data.

Q: How do I log in and file a workers’ compensation claim?

Workers’ compensation claims will be housed on the SET SEG Member Portal – no additional login credentials will be needed. All Portal users with Primary or Support permissions will be able to make a claim. More complete login instructions are included at the start of our guide for filing claims.

Q: How do I upload files to an existing claim?

Select File a Claim under the Workers’ Compensation tab and click Upload Files to Existing Claim. Search for a claim using the Claim textbox or click the magnifying glass next to it and select the desired claim from the list that populates. Click Complete Incident at the top-right of the screen to open the File Upload page. Attach your documents and select I’m Done to send them to your assigned adjuster for review. You may also email documents directly to your adjuster.

Note: You must be logged in to the Portal with Primary or Support permissions to upload files.

Q: What will happen to our open workers’ compensation claims?

CCMSI will continue to manage open claims until the transition to CRS is completed, at which time all claims will be reassigned to CRS adjusters.

Q: Will employees with open workers’ compensation claims be notified?

Yes, CRS will reach out to employees with open claims directly.

Q: When will our employees be notified and what will they receive?

Employees with open workers’ compensation claims should receive a physical letter from CRS just prior to the transition date. They will also receive new EHIM prescription cards shortly after their first letter.

Q: Will any of the district’s claims still be handled by CCMSI?

No, following the transition, CCMSI will no longer be affiliated with SET SEG.

Q: Will I be able to pull the district’s OSHA records?

SET SEG and CRS can pull reporting for your district, including OSHA records previously tracked through the iCE system.

Q: Who will handle our open litigated claims?

Legal counsel will remain the same, but CRS adjusters will work in place of CCMSI.

Q: Can I still contact CCMSI?

CCMSI can be contacted up until the transition is complete, after which you will be prompted to contact CRS.

Q: Who do I contact with questions about the transition?

Please contact the following SET SEG employees if you have any further questions:

  • Emily Klaver, Workers’ Compensation Claims & Risk Manager – eklaver@setseg.org
  • Deana Coolidge, Member Services Specialist – dcoolidge@setseg.org
