XXXXXXXXXXX Williamston Community Schools Munising Public Schools Vicksburg Community Schools This was also an outstanding year for the Education Excellence Awards program. Through our continued partnership with the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB), the SET SEG Foundation honored ten school districts with a $2,500 award, trophy, street sign and a ceremony in their district honoring their winning program. Local media also recognized these programs. Education Excellence recipients represent a variety of categories. One winning program’s mission is to increase reading engagement during the summer months and put books in the hands of under-resourced students. Another focused on promoting STEAM related classes in their district and provided a lab with a unique approach that allowed students to work through complex concepts in a collaborative setting. This year we also received numerous applications from districts with mindfulness programs that focus on creating a better environment for student learning and improving overall mental health. One winning Education Excellence winning program focused on empowering middle school students to gain self- awareness and confidence while learning the value of service and resilience through mindfulness. Each program will use their $2,500 award to grow their program and expand the reach of its impact.
